Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents, nothing could prepare Dora (Isabela Moner) for her most dangerous adventure ever- High School. Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots (her best friend, a monkey), Diego (Jeffrey Wahlberg), a mysterious jungle inhabitant (Eugenio Derbez), and a rag tag group of teens on a live-action adventure to save her parents (Eva Longoria, Michael Pea) and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost city of gold.

“Dora and the Lost City of Gold” is a surprisingly enjoyable adventure movie that plays like Tomb Raider for kiddies.

James Bobbin, who directed the fabulous “The Muppets Most Wanted”, keeps the live action - there is a short animated sequence for fans of the cartoon - moving along at a fast pace whilst young Isabela Moner is a very charismatic Dora.

Bobbin is mindful that Dora is a character that has very young fan base, songs about poo pay testament to that, however he keeps it at a level that, as well as appealing to its young fans’, makes it enjoyable for a more mature audience.

“Dora and the Lost City of Gold” is highly enjoyable and if you’re a fan of the likes of “Tomb Raider”, the recent “Jumanji” and “Raiders of the Lost Ark” then Dora comes highly recommended.
