Renee Barrett (Amy Schumer) works in a dark basement where she runs the website for a luxury cosmetic company that’s run by CEO Avery Le Claire (Michelle Williams).

When a position for a receptionist at the firm comes up Renee plucks up the courage and decides to apply. However before she attends the interview she bangs her head and knock herself out after falling off a cycle at he keep fit class.

Waking up from her knock, instead of seeing herself as on overweight under achieving nobody she sees herself as model thin and beautiful.

To everyone else Renee is still the same person but instead of having low self-esteem she is now full of self-confidence.

Needless to say things start to look up for Renee as she grabs herself a new boyfriend (Rory Scovel) and starts to climb the corporate ladder in the cosmetic company.

The message that I Feel Pretty gives out isn’t a good one, you can only be successful if you’re beautiful. It does make an effort at the end to correct itself but by then I Feel Pretty has fell flat on it’s not so pretty face. Schumer is without doubt an actress of some comedic talent however her last two movies, this and last years Snatched, have done nothing to reinforce this.
