In Playmobil's® animated action adventure, a top secret organization has caused citizens from different lands to vanish from thin air. The dashing and charismatic secret agent Rex Dasher (Daniel Radcliffe) must partner with smooth-talking food truck driver Del (Jim Gaffigan) and Marla (Anya Taylor-Joy) a smart, savvy civilian with her own secret agenda, to rescue them. Against unthinkable odds, the trio go on a fantastic journey across new worlds as they gather clues for their rescue mission.

Review

I would imagine that Playmobil have been watching enviously as its arch rivals in the plastic figure world, Lego have taking over the world with its movies and theme parks. So it’s easy to imaging some suited executive sitting behind a desk thinking to himself “how can we do a Lego with Playmobil”.

If the best that the company can come up with is Playmobil: The Movie then Lego have nothing to worry about.

Aimed fair and squarely at very young kids Playmobil: The Movie feels like a bad copy of a Lego Movie. Its episodic storyline feels stretched to the point where its near 1 hour 40 minute running time feels like an eternity.

One for Playmobil fans only.
