The Strangers: Prey At Night, the sequel to the 2008 horror movie The Strangers, begins with a prologue that sees three masked maniacs brutally murdering an elderly couple. The aforementioned couple just happen to live in the same trailer park that Cindy (Christina Hendricks) and Mike (Martin Henderson) are taking their two teenage children (Lewis Pullman and Bailee Madison) for a vacation where they hope to spend precious time together before their daughter heads off to boarding school.

The formula is pretty much the same as the original in that The Strangers lay siege to the terrified family who no matter what they do can’t seem to escape the murderous intent of their stalkers.

The Strangers: Prey At Night moves from one horrific scene to the next each, one become more and more implausible.

The Strangers: Prey At Night brings nothing new to the horror genre and is pretty formulaic in that it’s like so many horror movies that have come before it.

If you’re a fan of horror movies and enjoy watching people taking a course of action that you just know is going to get them killed then The Strangers: Prey At Night might be for you.
