Directed by Rod Lurie (The Outpost, Nothing but the Truth) from a screenplay he co-wrote with Marc Frydman, LUCKY STRIKE is inspired by true events and follows Captain John Castle (Eastwood), the sole survivor of a Nazi ambush during the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944. Wounded and alone behind enemy lines, Castle must evade advancing Panzer squads and SS patrols using only his wits, his spycraft and a Motorola SCR-300 field radio to find his way back to friendly forces. The film reunites Eastwood with Lurie following their 2019 Afghanistan War drama The Outpost. The ensemble cast includes Colin Hanks, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor and Taylor John Smith.
LUCKY STRIKE was shot on location at Nu Boyana Film Studios in Bulgaria, with cinematography by Lorenzo Senatore and a score by Larry Groupé. Known for his use of long, immersive single-shot sequences, Lurie brings the same visceral, ground-level intensity that defined The Outpost to this new chapter of wartime storytelling.
The film is produced by Marc Frydman, Rod Lurie, Jonathan Yunger, Les Weldon and Yariv Lerner, with Millennium Media handling worldwide sales. Lucky Strike had its US theatrical release on 26 June 2026 via Roadside Attractions and Saban Films.
