Glasgow Film Festival Review

One of the highlights of Glasgow Film Festival 2021 has to be director Anders Thomas Jensen's fantastic black comedy Riders Of Justice.

After a violent accident results in the death of his wife, military veteran Markus (Mads Mikkelson) is convinced by a bunch of computer geeks that the tragedy wasn’t an accident and that they have evidence that a biker gang called Riders of Justice actually caused it in order to cover up a murder.

Spurred on by the three computer wiz’s, fantastically played by Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Nicholas Bro and Lars Brygmann, or the three stooges would be a better description as they bicker and fight at every opportunity, Markus takes it upon himself to extract revenge for his dead wife.

Violent and funny in equal parts Riders of Justice has so many layers, touching on mental health and family relationships, it’s hard not to be taken in by such a fantastic piece of storytelling.

Surely destined for a Hollywood remake Riders Of Justice is not to be missed.
