After disappearing from a small Polish town, a mother discovers her 4-year old daughter, Ola, has been kidnapped by the Russian Mafia.

Stopped in her tracks by a policeman, Robert Goc, she is accused of speeding. His intervention delays the chase, resulting in the abduction of her child across the Eastern border. Feeling guilty that he failed to prevent the abduction , Robert becomes engaged in an international investigation to find the missing girl. The trail leads him to Russia a few years later.

Human trafficking is one of the most horrific and evolving types of crime existing within the modern world. Annually, 1.5 million children are sold for sexual exploitation, begging, organ trade or carrying out rituals. Based on factual evidence, Small World explores the issues facing some of the most vulnerable children today.
